The University of La Verne, a four year, comprehensive, private university, was founded in 1891. This Carnegie 1 research institution is located in northeast Los Angeles County in Southern California, just minutes away from Los Angeles, Pasadena and Orange County. La Verne is a vibrant, family-oriented community with a safe, small-town atmosphere that cherishes both its history and its vision for the future.
Nestled in the green foothills of the majestic San Gabriel Mountains, the University is just a short excursion away from world-class surfing beaches, challenging ski slopes and desert recreation areas. The location of the campus makes visits to renowned museums, cultural events, amusement parks and shopping centers easy.
The University’s mission to provide a people-centered, values-based, quality education has remained unchanged since its founding, nearly 120 years ago.

The Office of Housing & Residential Life supports, enhances and empowers all students living in University residential facilities. Residential Life values and respects the diversity that each person brings to the residential community.
