Character & Location

The University of La Verne, a four year, comprehensive, private university, was founded in 1891. This Carnegie 1 research institution is located in northeast Los Angeles County in Southern California, just minutes away from Los Angeles, Pasadena and Orange County. La Verne is a vibrant, family-oriented community with a safe, small-town atmosphere that cherishes both its history and its vision for the future. Nestled in the green foothills of the majestic San Gabriel Mountains, the University is just a short excursion away from world-class surfing beaches, challenging ski slopes and desert recreation areas. The location of the campus makes visits to renowned museums, cultural events, amusement parks and shopping centers easy.
