With ELS you can secure conditional admission before leaving your home country.

We help with the university search process and facilitate conditional admission through our University Admission Services. All this can be done without leaving your home country.

What is Conditional Admission?

Conditional Admission means that the admitting university has made the determination that the student is academically admissible, based on the student’s academic record and other university and/or departmental and program requirements. Conditional Admission includes those requirements that the student must satisfy in order to turn this Conditional Admission into a Full Admission. Once these requirements are fulfilled, the student is able to fully matriculate.

An example of matriculation requirements may include fulfillment of the institution’s English language proficiency requirement through submission of other required scores, i.e. GMAT® or GRE® for graduate programs.

Our ELS University Partners will offer a Conditional Letter of Admission (CLA) detailing the additional requirements needed for matriculation. As such, students and their families can rest assured that the student has a university placement and ELS registration prior to departing for the USA.

What is the Conditional Admission Process?

  1. Apply for university admission and enroll for English studies at ELS Language Centers with help from a local ELS authorized counseling agent.
  2. If you meet the university admission requirements, you receive a letter of “Conditional university admission, subject to meeting English proficiency requirements as well as any remaining documentation.”
  3. Study at any of the 50 ELS Centers in the USA to fulfill the university entrance requirement for English proficiency.
  4. Begin your university program!
