Many Languages, One World Essay Contest now Closed for Submissions

The deadline for essay submissions to this year’s Many Languages, One World Student Essay Contest passed last night, Wednesday, April 15 at 11:59 PM EST. There will be an announcement early next week recapping the submissions we have received this year.

This year, ten winners will be selected from each official language group of the United Nations, with an additional ten winners chosen on merit from the remaining entries in all languages. ELS will award each winner with an all-expense-paid trip to New York during the week of July 20 – 26, 2015, to participate in the Global Youth Forum and discuss plans of action addressing selected topics from the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

2015 marks the second edition of Many Languages, One World. In 2014, over 4,000 people participated in some aspect of the competition. Nearly 1,500 essays were submitted by students from 128 different countries studying at a diverse group of universities around the world. The 60 winners represented 26 different countries and six continents. At the official Many Languages, One World website you can read essays from the 2014 winners.
