Location

Founded in 1942, Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) is now the largest private university in New Jersey with two campuses just outside New York City. More than 12,000 students are enrolled at FDU's Metropolitan and Florham campuses, in addition its international campuses in Wroxton, England and Vancouver, B.C., Canada 1,200 international students from 80+ countries. FDU offers over 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Popular bachelor programs include Biology, Business, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering and Hospitality Management. Renowned graduate programs include MBA, MS Computer Science, MS Electrical Engineering, MS Hospitality, MA in Psychology and MA in Teaching English (TESL). Doctoral programs are offered in Pharmacy, Psychology and Nursing. FDU's Business faculty holds prestigious accreditation from AACSB. The Metropolitan campus is 16 kilometers from New York City (NYC). The Florham campus is located on a beautiful 19th century country estate. Situated in suburban locations, both campuses offer on-campus student housing and local shopping, restaurants and places of interest that are easily accessible by an extensive public transit system. NYC can be reached from either campus in less than one hour.

Housing


On campus housing is available. Residence halls can accommodate single-, double- and triple occupancy. Students choose from one of three meal plans. Interested resident students can take advantage of special interest living options such as 24-hour quiet, honors, and health and wellness housing. For those students who prefer to live off-campus there is ample parking and the campus is near several major bus and train stops.

Student life

  • FDU-Metropolitan campus has more than 100 active clubs and organizations.
  • Sports include Men's Division I programs in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track, soccer and tennis; Women's Division I programs in basketball, cross country, fencing, indoor and outdoor track, tennis and volleyball
  • Intramural sports programs in basketball, billiards, bowling, flag football, horseshoes, softball, table tennis, tennis and volleyball
  • Rothman Center, with sports facilities for basketball, tennis, racquetball and volleyball, plus a six-lane, 200-meter track, weight room and spectator seating for 5,000.
