Location

Bowling Green State University is a transformative learning community offering a welcoming, safe and diverse environment where students come to learn, live and grow. Founded in 1910 BGSU is an institution steeped in rich history and traditions now serving as home to over 19,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Bowling Green State University offers more than 200 undergraduate and 70 graduate majors and "U.S. News and World Report and Business Week" has recognized BGSU programs in biology, business, education, English, fine arts, industrial/organizational psychology, physical therapy, psychology, public affairs, rehabilitation counseling, sociology and speech-language pathology. Due its centralized location, BGSU offers a diverse selection of things to do and area attractions. From athletic events to the arts and festivals to amusement parks, there is something for everyone within a close driving distance. Within walking distance from campus downtown Bowling Green offers great shops and restaurants as well as an array of nightlife. This small-town atmosphere offers many large, ongoing events that will keep everyone entertained in their downtime. Located in Bowling Green, Ohio, Bowling Green State University is 30 minutes south of Toledo, Ohio and 90 minutes south of Detroit, Michigan. Our residential campus is situated on a 1,338-acre park-like setting, with more than 120 buildings including the new Stroh Center, the Wolfe Center for the Arts, and several new residence and dining facilities. The campus is physically compact so students can walk or bike to class within 10-15 minutes. Housing


BGSU will provide on-campus housing to both undergraduate and graduate degree seeking students while studying at the ELS Center. There are numerous off-campus housing options; however BGSU will not assist with coordination of this housing. While students are studying with ELS, all are eligible for on-campus housing; however, there is no on-campus housing available for graduate students once they have matriculated to BGSU.

Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is a comprehensive state public research university located in Bowling Green, Ohio. Founded in 1910 as the Bowling Green State Normal School, BGSU is one of Ohio’s “Four Corners” institutions. It is a First-Tier Public University according to US News and World Report (Top 200 in the National Universities list) which has also recognized the University for its First Year Program and learning communities. BGSU offers over 200 undergraduate, 54 Master’s and 17 doctoral programs in its seven colleges, and enrolls approximately 20,000 students on its main campus in Bowling Green, Ohio. There are approximately 1,000 international students at BGSU, representing 80 countries.
