Texas Tech University is a public research university with an enrollment of 35,134 students located in Lubbock, Texas. Texas Tech is large enough to provide the best in facilities and academics, but small enough to focus on each student individually. Founded in 1925, Texas Tech University has grown to become one of the best universities in the western United States. Texas Tech University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, masters and doctorate degrees and certificates. It offers 150 undergraduate programs, 103 masters programs and 60 doctoral programs. Texas Tech University is preparing students to lead in multicultural and globally competitive settings. It ranks in the Top 25 of U.S. institutions producing the graduates most sought after by government and corporate employers, according to The Wall Street Journal. Texas Tech University ranked second among universities whose alumni took their companies public in 2014. Harvard was first with seven, and Texas Tech tied with Columbia University, Stanford University and the University of North Carolina, each with three CEOs. Located in west Texas, Lubbock is a city of a quarter-million inhabitants offering year-round performances and art shows featuring the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Lubbock, Moonlight Musicals and the Lubbock First Friday Art Trail. Texas Tech University boasts over 516 clubs and organizations.
