Location

Kent State University is located in the northeast part of the state of Ohio, in the town of Kent. Situated on the Cuyahoga River, Kent (population: 28,000) is a small town with tree-lined streets and a historic downtown with plenty of restaurants, shops, a cinema and all the other amenities and services you'll need. Kent State is just a short drive from the major metropolitan areas of Cleveland, Akron and Canton. These cities and their surrounding areas are home to more than three million people who enjoy world-class museums, theatres, national parks, shopping, professional sports and Fortune 500 companies. Housing


Kent State has 24 residence halls offering a variety of room types and communities. Each residence hall complex is overseen by a full-time, professional residence hall director (RHD). Assistant residence hall directors (ARHDs) and resident assistants (RAs) work with the RHD to promote healthy and welcoming learning environments. All residence halls are secured with electronic locks on all entrance doors and student room doors. All residence halls have wireless connectivity throughout the building. All student rooms are connected to the university's wireless network. Computer labs are conveniently located in various halls across campus. Laundry facilities equipped with smart card technology are located in every residence hall. All residence halls are smoke-free.

Student life

There are many activities offered on campus: student government, more than 200 student organizations and Greek communities. Also, there are many arts and sporting events. There is an on-campus television station and an on-campus radio station. The university's proximity to Cleveland, Akron and Canton offer world-class dining, museums and professional sports experiences.
