Founded in 1969, South Seattle College is a comprehensive community-based institution. South, one of the Seattle Colleges, is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). The 15,000 students who attend South each year come from Seattle and more than 35 countries around the globe. The Associate of Arts or Science degree (commonly referred to as the 2 + 2 Transfer Degree program) helps students meet the requirements for transfer into a bachelor's degree program. International applicants can request a Transfer Admissions Guarantee (TAG) letter upon admission to South from a prestigious list of U.S. partner universities. South offers various professional and technical programs and is especially renowned for its innovative and quality job preparation programs in the aviation, healthcare and hospitality fields. Students who complete a two-year degree program may continue at South to complete one of the four-year Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree programs: Hospitality Management; Professional Technical Teacher Training or Sustainable Building Science Technology. Located on an 87-acre hilltop in West Seattle, South Seattle College offers a panoramic view of the city skyline and surrounding mountains. Only 10 minutes from downtown Seattle, the college is situated in a quiet, spacious residential setting ideal for learning. Student life
With over 650 international students enrolled from all over the world, South Seattle College proudly serves a globally diverse student population. The Center for International Education office provides comprehensive services for international students, which prepare them to meet their goals for life and work.
