Many Languages, One World 2017 to be Broadcast Live

Many Languages, One World^® winners will be presenting action plans at the United Nations General Assembly this Friday, 21 July at 10:00 A.M. EDT. The students’ presentations will be broadcast live on http://webtv.un.org/ for viewing!

Students will present in six groups, separated by the United Nations official language in which the students wrote their essays. The six official languages of the United Nations are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. The live stream of the Many Languages, One World 2017 presentations at the United Nations will be available in the six languages.

The action plans will be related to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Many Languages, One World contest challenged students around the globe to write essays should reflecting their personal, academic, cultural and national context and discussed global citizenship and cultural understanding and the role that multilingual ability can play in fostering these.

Entrants submitted essays in one of the six official United Nations languages, which could be neither the student’s first language nor his/her primary language of instruction.

2017 marks the fourth year of the Many Languages, One World Essay Contest and Global Youth Forum. This year welcomes Northeastern University as the host of the Many Languages, One World Global Youth Forum and the sponsor and organizer of the Northeastern University Global Youth Conference.
