Housing

Each of Calvin's seven residence halls consists of a wing of women's floors and a wing of men's floors connected by a common lobby. Most wings have three floors with approximately 40 residents per floor. A reception desk and student mailboxes are located in the main lobby.

The majority of residents who live in the residence halls are first-year students or sophomores, with many juniors and seniors choosing to live in the Calvin's Knollcrest East apartments. Each floor has a mix of class levels, majors, interests, backgrounds, etc. Recreational and laundry facilities (free) are available in each hall.

Student life

Calvin's thoughtful Christian community strengthens heart, soul, mind and body. Calvin students, faculty and staff value the task of serving God together through intellectual exploration, spirited interaction, worship and work.

To foster each student's faith, Calvin offers numerous campus-wide opportunities for worship, including daily chapel services, the student-led LOFT (Living Our Faith Together), foreign language chapels and dorm Bible studies. Calvin brings multicultural issues alive through a variety of programs such as Rangeela, the Mosaic Community, Project Neighborhood houses, Interim and and semester-long off-campus study programs and the many opportunities provided by the Service-Learning Center.

The Multicultural Student Advisory Board and residence life programs frequently sponsor activities such as salsa dances, hunger dinners and UNLEARN Week. Calvin's festivals, symposia, lecture series and other events attract participants from around the world. These events have grown out of the college's commitment to enhance global learning by bringing the best among Christian and secular musicians, writers and thinkers to campus.

Resources abound at Calvin for the health and well-being of students, staff and faculty. Calvin's new athletic complex includes a fitness club, swimming pool, gymnasium and 5,000-seat arena.
