Gardner-Webb University, a private Christian University, is located 50 miles west of Charlotte in the Piedmont area of Western North Carolina. Main campus of 225 acres is located in Boiling Springs, NC. Close to 5000 students attend from 37 states and 21 foreign countries. The institution began as a boarding high school and later became a junior college. Today Gardner-Webb is a thriving regional university with growing master's and doctoral programs. Gardner-Webb University offers a total of 5 professional schools, 2 academic schools, and 11 academic departments offering nearly 60 undergraduate and graduate major fields of study. Approximately 33% of students major in business field, 30% in social sciences, and 17% in nursing. Gardner-Webb's liberal arts approach offers broad-based exposure to the arts, humanities and sciences and to each field's unique challenges, contributions, and life lessons; complementing the acquisition of career-related knowledge and skills with well-rounded knowledge of self, others, and society. Gardner-Webb's core curriculum ranks in the nation's top two percent for quality and breadth, according to the recent What Will They Learn? study by the American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA). Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Gardner-Webb's campus is a beautiful backdrop to an environment of learning and faith. Gardner-Webb is proud to support over 50 student led organizations providing students opportunities to serve and lead with others that share their passions and interests. The campus is located just an hour west of Charlotte, North Carolina, 45 minutes north of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and an hour from Asheville, North Carolina where students are able to enjoy a wide variety of cultures.


Dormitory accommodations house two students per room, as do suite accommodations. Apartments house one student per bedroom. Students may purchase a variety of meal plans.

Student life
