Location

Montreat College is an independent, Christ-centered liberal arts institution educating through intellectual inquiry, spiritual formation, and preparation for calling and career. The school is located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, about 20 miles east of Asheville, and 5 miles away from Black Mountain, North Carolina. Montreat College has a total enrollment of 406 in our Undergraduate program. There are 19 Undergraduate Majors offered at Montreat College as well as 48 Minors and Concentrations. These majors include Business Administration, Cybersecurity, Outdoor Education, Worship Arts, and many more exciting majors. The school is accredited by the Commission on Colleges Southern Association of Colleges & Schools to award associate's degrees, bachelor's degrees, and master's degrees. In Black Mountain, there are a number of things to do such as go to a local coffee shop, or go to a music venue. Asheville is a region internationally renowned for its outdoor adventures, culinary delights, thriving music scene, and vibrant cultural life.

Housing


There are four dormitories on campus. Students over the age of 21 may live off campus in one of the many locally owned houses or apartments.

Student life

Montreat enrolls about 400 students per year from 30 states and 10 foreign countries. Men compete in soccer, basketball, baseball, golf, lacrosse and tennis. Women compete in basketball, soccer, softball, golf, lacrosse, tennis and volleyball.
