Orange Coast College (OCC) is a 2-year community college located in the city of Costa Mesa in Orange County in Southern California. It is one of the largest community colleges in the county with 22,000 students enrolled, 1,100 international students from more than 70 countries. It offers a comprehensive list of 130 academic and vocational majors leading to associates degrees, certificates and transfer to 4-year universities. Our most popular majors for international students include architecture, business, computer science, engineering and film. Our unique programs include marine biology (the largest program in the US for community college), fashion, aviation science, culinary arts, theatre, and travel/tourism. OCC offers 13 women’s and 12 men’s competitive sports with Atheltic programs winning nearly 100 national, state, and conference championships. Our students have also won various state and national competitions in culinary arts, film, speech and debate, and interior design. OCC also offers a wide range of student clubs and honors societies including UCLA TAP (Transfer Alliance Program). OCC also offers scholarships awarding nearly $400,000 to students every year. OCC is one of the top community colleges for transfer to 4-year universities. It is consistently among the top 3 of 113 community colleges in California, for the number of transfers to UC and CSU systems combined and has been named #1 Community College in Southern California for its high transfer and retention rates by and which is sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. OCC international students have also transferred to nearly 200 universities across the US including the Ivy League, MIT, NYU, USC and Carnegie Mellon. Orange Coast College is minutes from some of California’s most famous beaches which include Huntington, Newport and Laguna and Disneyland Resort. It is also located in one of the safest communities in Southern California.

Student life

Orange Coast College offers more than 50 student organizations including ASOCC Student Government, cultural and religious student associations, leisure/sports clubs, honor socieities and much more. OCC also offers a competitive athletic program with 13 women’s and 12 men’s sports including the only community college crew team.
