Founded in 1904, Saint Michael's College is a competitive four-year university, located in a beautiful part of the USA. For those needing to improve their English the full-credit Pathway Program offers conditional admission and enrollment in an academic English program. Opportunities abound for enrichment, including an honors program, independent research, internships, a Phi-Beta-Kappa chapter, and study abroad. Students may participate in clubs and activities including sports, journalism, the arts, leadership, culture, politics, and many more. After graduation about 85% of our students find a job and begin their career, and 15% percent decide to continue their education in a (post) graduate program. Within 5 years of graduation from Saint Michael's, over 50% of our students enter (post) graduate school. Saint Michael's College excels at finding internship and OPT placements for it's international students in STEM or non-STEM majors. The Office for Career Services has expertise, contacts, alumni and SMC's good reputation to help students identify internships and full-time jobs, apply for them, and receive them. Most of our 2,000 students live on our beautiful campus, just minutes from downtown Burlington, Vermont. It is known as one of the most beautiful, safest and healthiest places in the US. We are also close to some of the best outdoor activities on the east coast, including skiing, hiking, biking, and boating. We are close to Boston, Montreal and New York. Saint Michael’s College is a four-year, private, residential, liberal arts university, located in Vermont, USA. It’s an academically competitive institution that not only prepares students for a successful career, but also for participating actively in their communities and world. St. Mike’s is located in the great college town of Burlington, Vermont, which is also one of the safest and healthiest states in the USA. We are near excellent skiing, hiking, mountain climbing, biking, and sailing.


Students reside on campus in residence hall suites shared by four or eight students. Each student has a private bedroom and the bathroom and living spaces are shared. Bedrooms are equipped with a bed, dresser, closet, desk and chair. A small community kitchen is located on each floor which students are welcome to use. All residences are wired for phone, cable TV and computer accessibility. As an added benefit, Internet and e-mail access is free in the residence halls.

NOTE: With the exception of summer sessions, no on-campus housing is available for graduate students.

Student life

With nearly 100 percent of undergraduates living on campus, Saint Michael's is a residential university which means that all English language and undergraduate students live on campus.

Students have the opportunity to utilize all campus facilities including: library, computer labs, gymnasiums featuring a swimming pool, basketball, volleyball, racquetball and tennis courts, weight room, indoor track and dance studio.

Students may also choose to attend special lectures, films and presentations or excellent drama and musical performances. Numerous on- and off-campus student activities are scheduled each weekend such as fun-filled events in the residence halls and trips to points of interest in Vermont or big cities like Boston and Montreal.

Students may also take advantage of various outdoor recreational activities offered through the reputable Wilderness Program.
