Location

Southwestern Oregon Community College is situated within three kilometers of the Pacific Ocean in an area of scenic beauty and mild climate with long stretches of open public beaches, forests, lakes and the famous Oregon dunes. The 62-hectare campus is located in the small town of Coos Bay, bordered on the north by the city of North Bend. Cultural offerings include museums, libraries, art galleries, music venues and theater ensembles. The school offers small classes, personal attention and a friendly atmosphere.

Housing


  • Apartment-style housing on the shore of Empire Lakes
  • Each furnished apartment has four private bedrooms, two shared baths, living room, balcony / patio and kitchen with stove and refrigerator
  • Each room has local phone service, satellite TV and computer dataport for Internet access at no extra charge.

Student life

  • Various activities include trips to Portland and Eugene, free movie nights, plays on campus, basketball games, outdoor club activities, trips to Blazer games, performances, International Club campus activities and road trips, etc.

  • Fitness facilities include: weight room, tennis courts, gym and ball fields.
