Founded in 1902, the private University of Indianapolis has been welcoming international students since 1919. The student population of approximately 5400 which includes 500 international students from 60 different countries. The University is located in a suburb of the city of Indianapolis; a metropolitan community with a population of over one million. The University of Indianapolis is regionally ranked as a Tier One university among institutions of its type. The university offers approximately over 100 Bachelor's degrees including several undergraduate business majors and internationally acclaimed health science programs including public health, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy and psychology. Additional majors include engineering, computer science, environmental sustainability, several sports-related programs, international relations, communication and the arts. The safe and attractive residential campus is only a 15-minute drive from the impressive and progressive downtown district and provides opportunities for shopping, entertainment and professional development. Within driving distance of other major cities such as Chicago; Indianapolis provides the recreational & business opportunities of a large city with the affordability, safety and convenience of a small city. The campus is 25 minutes from a major airport. City residents experience the beauty of four seasons with average temperatures of 23C / 73F in summer and -2C/ 28F in winter.

Student life

Student support includes Academic Success Center & Tutoring Labs, Career Services, Health & Counseling Center, Campus Police, International Services, free wireless & computer labs. International student support includes specialized admission, orientation & advising, international events & cultural organizations, free airport pick-up, chapel, meditation room and ablutions facility. Campus employment is available along with annual events such as Celebration of the Flags, 50+ student organizations, new health pavilion, renovated library and competitive NCAA Division II athletics with 21 men's and women's sports.
