Accreditation Bodies

As a testament to their commitment to high quality education, a growing number of Indian institutions are pursuing accreditation from international accreditors.

UGC
The University Grants Commission (UGC) presides over the quality of education offered by educational institutions and provides recognition to the universities which meet their set standards. The commission promotes international education standards in Indian universities by regulating standards of education, teaching and research in universities.

NAAC
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), a wing of UGC, is an autonomous body which assesses and accredits Indian universities. The council handles university accreditation through a grading system, with Grade A being the highest and Grade C being the lowest. The vast majority of universities in India fall under the Grade A and B categories.

AACSB International
The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International is a non-governmental, voluntary body which provides accreditation to business and accounting programs at all educational levels around the world.

ABET
The Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology which assures programs in the fields of engineering, applied sciences, and computer science meet industry standards. ABET accreditations are provided to programs and institutions worldwide.
