On January 11, 2016, ELS/Lake Charles opened on the campus of McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Special ELS tuition and housing scholarships are still available!
McNeese State University
McNeese State University is located in Lake Charles, one of the fastest growing cities in Louisiana, half way between Houston and New Orleans. Over 8,000 students can choose from more than 70 degree programs offered by the Colleges of Business, Education, Engineering and Technology, Graduate Studies, Liberal Arts, Nursing and Science.
For the fourth consecutive year, McNeese has been ranked in Tier One in the Best Regional Universities—South category in the 2015 edition of “America’s Best Colleges” published by U.S. News and World Report. McNeese was also ranked in the top 50 among the top public schools in the southern region.

ELS/Lake Charles
The ELS Center, with all classrooms, offices and the Language Technology Center, is located on the campus of McNeese State University. ELS students have full access to the university’s library, recreation facilities, computer labs and other facilities.
McNeese State University accepts completion of Level 112 of the ELS intensive English for Academic Purposes program as fulfillment of the English proficiency requirement for both undergraduate and graduate programs. Conditional Letters of Admission based upon completion of ELS Level 112 are issued for the majority of the university’s degree programs.
On-campus housing is available for ELS students. Students may also choose to live in homestays with American families.
