Big Bend Community College (BBCC) is in Moses Lake, Washington. It is a two-year community college accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges. The Campus is located eight kilometers north of Moses Lake, which has a population of 21,000 people. It is about 275 kilometers east of Seattle, Washington. The community enjoys nearly 300 days of sunshine per year. The good weather, combined with the college's location adjacent to the Grant County International Airport, makes BBCC a prime training location for commercial pilots and aircraft maintenance technicians. Students can literally walk from the dormitories to the flight line. The state of Washington is on the West Coast of the US, and should not be confused with Washington, DC on the country's East Coast.
It is a requirement that student live in the residence halls on the campus during the first quarter. Big Bend Community College offers residence hall living accomodations and dining facilities. Aside from being an affordable place to live, the residence halls at Big Bend also provide an exceptional environment for students. Amenities include: Fiber optic internet in each room, lounges with TVs and microwaves on each floor. Free laundry facilities in each building, free parking, security, paid utilities, pool tables and Foosball, ADA approved rooms, public bus service and kitchens. Shared and private rooms available.
The Associated Student Body plans several educational and entertaining events each month for students, campus employees and the public. Intramural sports, athletics, trips, events and other exciting activities are offered at BBCC.
The city gets its name from the lake it surrounds, Moses Lake, one of the state's largest freshwater lakes. The lake provides several months of swimming, boating, bird watching and other outdoor recreational opportunities.
