Foothill and De Anza Colleges are located in the heart of Silicon Valley, south of San Francisco, home to top companies such as Apple, Google, Adobe, Tesla, Intel, NASA Research Labs and Facebook. With 300 sunny days a year and an average temperature of 21°C, this area allows you to enjoy some of the best beaches, hiking, golfing and sightseeing, all very close to our campuses! The nearby cities of Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, and San Jose are consistently ranked as the country's safest. San Francisco and San Jose have also been named as top cities for young professionals. Foothill College, home to about 13,500 students, offers a scenic and peaceful atmosphere. On the other hand, De Anza College is home to about 31,000 students and provides a lively campus atmosphere about 10 minutes away in Cupertino, home to Apple. Together, both colleges welcome students from 110 countries and offer personalized attention, state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories, small class sizes, athletics facilities, theaters, many clubs and activities and more. Our students are regularly accepted into the third year at top universities such as UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Davis, USC, Columbia, Yale, Stanford, NYU, Indiana University and other prestigious institutions.
Homestays can be arranged with carefully-screened local families. The College also helps students who want to live independently to identify potential roomates and find nearby apartments. The approximate cost per month is $500 - $900.
The American Institute of Architects has honored our campus as "the most beautiful Community college ever built", making Foothill College an ideal location to study. Several new award-winning and innovative buildings have also recently opened around campus.
Opportunities to be engaged, learned and lead are limitless: students can choose from over 60 dynamic clubs, student government, varsity athletics and intramural teams, newspaper, radio station, theatre and cultural heritage months. Campus Abroad programs, which take students to Europe, Latin America, and Asia with our faculty, also provide students with additional hands-on experience.
Campus highlights include cutting edge Computer and Multimedia Labs, the nation's first VMware Academy, Entrepreneur Center, Broadcast Media Center, Dental Clinic, stadiums, Golf and Tennis Complex, Olympic-size swimming pools, two theatres, a wellness center and a planetarium.
