Founded in 1966, Golden West College is a two-year public community college committed to providing outstanding transfer and vocational education while offering quality cultural and community programs and services. The college is located in the coastal town of Huntington Beach, a resort community 40 kilometers south of Los Angeles in Orange County, one of the fastest-growing areas in California.
Near several fine colleges and universities- including the University of California Irvine, California State University Long Beach and UCLA - Golden West is part of a colorful, diverse community that enjoys many cultural opportunities and activities.
Although housing is not provided on campus, the college will assist students in obtaining accommodations in the community. Housing options include sharing an apartment with other students, renting a single apartment or renting a room with a family in the community. The International Student Program coordinates a homestay program for international students who would like to live with an American family and provides information and guidance regarding local accommodations and apartment rentals.
