Location

The University of Idaho (UI) is a public research institution founded in 1889, and is located in the beautiful city of Moscow, Idaho USA. The UI is a top 100 public university and one of only 72 prestigious land-grant institutions in the USA. There are over 300 degree programs in all major areas of study including engineering, science, business, architecture, natural resources, agriculture, music, and much more. The University of Idaho's beautiful, historic campus was designed by the same landscape architects that created the famous Central Park in New York. As a residential campus, many of our students live in one of our many residence halls. Of our nearly 11,500 students on campus, nearly 1,000 are international students representing more than 80 countries. With more than 250 student clubs and organizations, there is something for everyone to get involved in and make the most of their college experience. Located in one of the most beautiful places in America, the UI is close to many fortune 500 companies that recruit our student graduates. The city of Moscow, Idaho has been ranked one of the top 100 small art towns in the nation, and one of the 5 best college towns. Cost of living is very low, and the city boasts a very safe and friendly community with the University of Idaho at the center. Our faculty and staff are world renowned in their fields, working on cutting-edge projects and initiatives. With an average 17:1 student to faculty ratio, students at the UI receive a world-class, personalized, hands-on educational experience. Roughly 75% of all undergraduate students get to take part in research, some within their first year of study. At the UI, we have the largest library in the state, and our campus has been ranked as one of the 100 "most wired" campuses in America for our advanced classrooms, and state of the art research facilities. The University of Idaho is a residential campus, offering many different living options for our students. All first year students are required to live on campus for their first year. Students that live on campus tend to be more successful academically, and have more opportunities to make friends and get involved. The Living Learning Communities (LLC) is focused on combining the best qualities of academic and social living environments. Each LLC community provides private study rooms, lounge space, a full size kitchen and a family room for students to share. These great on-campus living communities offer apartment style accommodations, where students can choose to have a single or double room. The Wallace Complex is one of our most historic residence halls on campus where the majority of our students who choose to live on campus live. In these rooms, students can choose to have a roommate or single, and will share a bathroom with their suitemate. Our main campus dining hall is located in the Wallace Complex, which offers an excellent variety of cuisine throughout the week.

The University of Idaho has a beautiful diverse campus located in the heart of Moscow, Idaho. Our city has been ranked one of the top 5 best college towns in America, and one of the top 100 cities of the arts. Just a ten minute walk to downtown, Moscow offers a wide variety of restaurants, coffee shops and hangout spots that are perfect for the college experience. Our community has a very low cost of living, friendly, safe living environment, and access to some of the best outdoors in the nation. With over 250 different student clubs and organizations, there's a lot to get involved in. Our students learn-by-doing and have been recognized on the national level for their commitment to service, volunteerism, research, athletics and so much more.
