Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) is a regional, co-educational, residential, public institution established in 1906. The university currently serves over 16,000 students enrolled in more than 148 degree programs.

EKU’s co-op program is the first program accredited in the state of Kentucky by the Accreditation Council for Cooperative Education and Internships. EKU offers both co-op and internship opportunities to students. The school’s mission is to ensure student success through supervised career-related experiences that enhance professional development and enable application of classroom learning.

To participate in the Co-operative education/internship program, students must demonstrate above average academic performance, maintain that level of achievement after receiving a co-op/internship offer from an employer, and meet all other requirements of the program.
