ELS/Boston – Downtown Students Participate in National Geographic Learning Focus Group

December 8, 2017

ELS/Boston – Downtown students participated in a National Geographic Learning focus group, giving them the opportunity to practice their English skills with native-speakers.

During the focus group, the students tested a new English-language learning app currently under development by National Geographic Learning, in partnership with TED, and talked about their experiences in depth. This focus group served as an opportunity for National Geographic Learning to interact with students who are learning English. The students used their expertise to discuss what is most helpful in practicing and improving their English skills.

The ELS students were asked about their backgrounds including: their nationalities, the age at which they began learning English, and the ways that they practice learning English outside of the classroom. They reflected on their learning process, shared their opinions, and offered suggestions for improvements.

After the focus group, students toured the offices of National Geographic Learning, including English Language Teaching departments.
