ELS Student Story: Jake

ELS/Richmond – Kentucky student ChangYi, “Jake”, started ELS at level 105 and has since matriculated to Middle Tennessee State University!

After starting Level 105, Jake excelled at ELS. He made new international friends, got involved in ELS activities and would always take the extra opportunity to practice English outside of the classroom. Jake lived on the Eastern Kentucky University campus, home to ELS/Richmond – Kentucky, alongside native-speaking American students.

Jake completed ELS Level 112 and graduated from the English for Academic Purposes program within 7 months. Since, Jake has matriculated to Middle Tennessee State University, home to ELS/Nashville, to study Film Production.

“I believe that studying in ELS is better and easier for international students to adapt to U.S. society and college life,” Jake said about his preparation for university study.

Jake has just finished his first year at Middle Tennessee State University, and has received A’s in almost all of his classes.
