ELS/Cleveland, located on the campus of prestigious Case Western Reserve University, provides you with a pathway to improve your English and begin your journey to practicing law! The Case Western University School of Law offers three degrees: LL.M., J.D. and S.J.D. ELS student candidates to the LL.M. program who complete ELS EAP Level 112, are eligible to be considered for an LL.M. merit scholarship!

Case Western Reserve University was founded in 1826. Case Institute of Technology merged with Western Reserve College in 1967 to form one of the country’s leading research universities. There are 4,900 undergraduates and 5,860 graduate students. International students, from over 90 countries, make up 19% of enrolled students.

CLE_campus school of law 2The LL.M. program at Case Western Reserve School of Law offers a special learning experience for foreign graduates who are ready to meet the challenges of practicing law in a global economy.

The LL.M program is, one-year and full-time. Foreign-trained lawyers are given the opportunity to study the American legal system and learn about international law and trade.
ELS student candidates to the LL.M. program who complete ELS EAP Level 112, preferably at ELS/Cleveland, are eligible to be considered for an LL.M. merit scholarship. These scholarships may be awarded to students with strong academic credentials in their university legal studies. Students must also show strong performance at the ELS Language Center through completion of Level 112.  LL.M. students take most of their classes with J.D. and S.J.D. students.

The university also offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees and is ranked #38 among national universities.

Case Western Reserve University is located in a cultural park on the eastern edge of the city that includes the nationally renowned Cleveland Symphony Orchestra and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Many law school students live in affordable apartments in the charming neighborhood of Little Italy, with its cafes and boutiques, just a 10-minute walk from the law school.
