The University of Wisconsin-Marathon County (UWMC), is located near downtown Wausau, a thriving city of 39,000 in central Wisconsin. The campus is two hours north of Madison and a four-hour drive from Chicago. Adjacent to the 78-acre Marathon Park, the campus is also the host to the Center for Civic Engagement, which hosts renowned speakers and events.

Student life

Students can join one of the 20 clubs or student organizations, participate in college athletics and attend exciting daily events at UW-Marathon County. Students can also write for "The Forum" student newspaper, submit pieces for the campus literary magazine, conduct research with professors, or take advantage of a state-of-the-art video production studio. The student choir, UWMC theater company and jazz and instrumental bands offer other creative outlets.
