WCU is a comprehensive, public university located in picturesque Chester County, one of the fastest-growing areas of Pennsylvania. The 406-acre campus has a mixture of old and new architecture and the tree-lined streets and landscaped campus provide a pastoral setting with the amenities of the thriving town of West Chester. WCU is about 25 miles west of Philadelphia, half way between New York City and Washington D.C. along the mid-Atlantic corridor. West Chester is a quaint, picturesque town. Students can easily walk from the West Chester University of Pennsylvania campus to local shops, restaurants and music venues. The local community is diverse and welcoming to international students.

Student life

West Chester University has more than 260 clubs and organizations on campus, covering a wide range of interests including honor societies, Greek life, music groups, service organizations for volunteer work, student government and theater. Additionally, WCU offers 24 Division II sports, as well as intramural, recreational and sports clubs. Special events hosted on campus include comedians, concerts, Greek Week, Homecoming, plays, speakers and recently-released movies. For international students, the Center for International Programs (CIP) is the designated office on campus to provide special assistance, advising and programming for the members of the WCU international community.
