Western Kentucky University is an accredited state university with over 20,000 students located in the vibrant city of Bowling Green, Kentucky. The campus is located in the middle of the city, a short walking distance from the historic downtown area. Downtown Bowling Green is a popular spot for nightlife, dining and is full of interesting shops. Bowling Green also features a shopping district grocery stores, a busy mall and a wide variety of restaurants. It is just a quick one hour drive to the city of Nashville, Tennessee, known as the music capital of the US and a two hour drive to Louisville, home of the Kentucky Derby.

M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan is a transition program that gives incoming students a chance to become acclimated to campus life before classes begin. With an average of 1,700 participants each year, M.A.S.T.E.R Plan offers social activities, interactive workshops, and the opportunity to make personal connections with other students, faculty and staff.

Student life

The wealth of extracurricular activities at Western Kentucky University provide students the opportunity to expand their horizons and experience new things. With over 140 clubs and organizations from which to choose, students are sure to find one that fits! WKU offers professional societies, departmental clubs, honor societies, religious and service organizations, Greek life, special interestgroups and sports clubs. The WKU International Club has become one of the biggest and most active clubs on campus. With around 150 members from all over the world, including the United States, the International Club connects individuals in social and service activities.
