Step 1
Submit your ELS Language Centers application and your Conditional or Direct Admission Application to your chosen partner college or university.
Step 2
Receive your Conditional or Direct Admission offer from the university and your I-20 form to study at ELS Language Centers in the USA.
Step 3
Study Intensive English at ELS until you achieve your required English language level (ELS 109 or 112 for conditional admission, or four weeks of study for direct admission).
Step 4

Students can receive conditional or direct admission, depending on their English level, and benefit from support throughout the application process. ELS Language Centers offers a University Admissions Service to a select number of post-secondary partner institutions.
Yes. More than 600 universities across the USA accept ELS level 109 or 112 as proof of English for entry. By completing the required ELS English level, you can meet the English requirement without taking IELTS or TOEFL.
Conditional admission means you are accepted into a university before meeting the English requirement. You will study English at ELS Language Centers until you reach the required level, and then progress into your academic program.
Direct admission is available if you already meet academic requirements and complete a short ELS program (typically a minimum of 4 weeks). This allows you to enter your university program without additional English conditions.
A 2+2 program allows students to:
Study the first 2 years of a degree at a community college
Transfer to a university to complete the final 2 years
This pathway can be a more flexible and cost-effective route to earning a bachelor’s degree in the USA.
